How does ATMOS Pipe update the K factor for pipeline friction?

The K factor is a function of pipeline friction, diameter and density. Under leak free operations, K is updated using the Least Squares algorithm to minimize estimation errors. In the event of a leak, K is used for leak location estimation. Since K is updated continuously, it keeps track of pipeline resistance changes over a pipeline's life cycle.
